The towns location, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra de Irta, gives the visitor a great variety of environments from which to choose. The old quarter of the city conserves traces of its most remote past, tied to the powerful Borgia family through Pope Benedict XIII, also known as Papa Luna, testimony to the importance of the city is manifested in the majesty of the castle-fortress. As complement and contrast to the old town, you can stroll along the promenade and along the avenues of the tourist area. All this accompanied by extensive beaches to the north and welcoming and peaceful coves that occur to the south, sheltered by the impressive Sierra de Irta. |

The organization: The “Club Handbol Peñíscola Maestrat” and the town of Peníscola, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by your summer holidays, have the pleasure of inviting you to compete in the V PEÑÍSCOLA INTERNATIONAL CUP Handball Tournament, to taken place in Peñíscola “The City by the Sea”, from the 6th to the 12th of July, 2009. The Peníscola International Cup Handball Tournament arrives, in 2008, to his fifth edition. The previous editions have supposed already a success, but the evolution must be ascending. After five years, the great amount of accumulated experiences by the Committee of organization is going to contribute, surely, to great amount of ideas and resources. With the objective to obtain that the 2009 edition will be an authenticate spectacle playful-sport. We hope that this new edition, with new activities that we will be confirming, may please to the participant equipment. On the other hand, the organization wants to thank to all the sponsors and collaborator their aid in previous editions, hoping that this collaboration can continue in the future. |
